March is the Month ;)
This March looks set to be the most prolific month in music thus far for 2011, and here’s just a few reasons why…
New Album Releases
The Vaccines– What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?
Release Date: March 14th
Get the physical copy for Euro 9.99 from cdwow.ie I don’t like clichés but it has to be said that this is perhaps the most highly anticipated indie album of the year, and rightly so. What Did You Expect Form The Vaccines? has it all; from the simple sound of track number 7, Post Break-up Sex sporting lyrics that we can all relate to…Anthem anyone? to the fast paced punk-pop trash of (ra ra ra) Wrecking Bar.
I don’t think there is need to prattle on, have a listen and make up your own minds! Stand out track: Blow It Up Here’s the guys performing the track on Jools Holland back in November 2010
Elbow– Build a Rocket Boys
Release Date: March 7th The follow-up album to the 2008 Mercury Award winning The Seldom Seen Kid, Build a Rocket Boys has perhaps a more somber feel but all the same it looks set for similar success.
The Strokes– Angles
Release Date: March 21st Yay, they’re finally back with one serious return to form. The Strokes have managed to encapsulate the sound that originally made them stand out from the rest as a class of their own. Think a mash-up of Is This It sprinkled with some Room on Fire flavouring and we got ourselves a sure-fire cracker…
The Strokes spent most of last year headlining major festivals including Australia’s Splendour in the Grass, where the New Yorker’s caused a ramming crowd frenzy…before hitting the safety of the studios at the end of 2010.
Here’s a little sneak peek of The Strokes at their very best
Primal Scream– Screamadelica (20th Anniversary Edition)
Release Date: March 14th I literally don’t know any early nineties music lover who does not own a copy of this psychedelic indie dance classic…This album suits almost any mood or time of day, If you were heading out on the town, perfect. Winding down from a night on the town even more perfect.
For you younger music fans out there that didn’t get to enjoy this musical masterpiece the first time I can’t recommend it enough…have a listen and see for yourself
