April Appraisals
Right April this is what what the music world has in store for you 😉
New Album Releases
Glasvegas– Euphoric/Heartbreak
Release Date: April 4th
The eagerly awaited follow up to the their fantastic self- titled debut, Euphoric//Heartbreak is set to alight fans once again. First release from the album,’ Euphoria, take my hand’ is just as hard hitting as the previous offerings and if this song is anything to go by, coupled with the already etched Glasvegas sound of ‘The World is Yours’ we may expect the remainder of the album to be just as effective as before…
Bell X1- Bloodless Coup
Release Date: April 4th
A pretty sombre offering from the Irish trio, it seems they may be attributing a wholly different theme to each release. A far cry from their more rockier days of ‘Music in Mouth,’ ‘Bloodless Coup’ does exactly what it says on the tin and so it appears that Bell X1 have somewhat given up the fight.
Foo Fighters- Wasting Light
Release Date: April 11th
This is the seventh studio offering from the American rockers and the first album to officially welcome back guitarist, Pat Smear as a member of the crew since 1997’s, The Colour and Shape. Wasting Light draws together nicely the Foo’s usual mix of heavy sounds whilst as ever incorporating the more mellow side of the coin.
Opening track ‘Bridge Burning’ perfectly sets the scene for the majority of the album, whilst tunes such as ‘Arlandria’ and ‘Back and Forth’ keep in tone with the Foo Fighters winning mixed formula. I would describe Wasting Light as a pretty decent submission from the Stadium Rockers and I’m sure the songs will incorporate quite nicely into their summer sets.
Toxic Airbourne Event- All at Once
Release Date: April 25th
With tracks such as album namesake All at Once it really baffles me how this band is not more popular/well known. Just like their debut self titled album the American quintet have again come up with a winning formula of songs that just get under your skin and continue to cling on. ‘Numb’ is just another reason why the word on this band has just got to be spread around…just have a listen for yourselves.
There is not much more I can say only that if you want to be a part of the euphoric feeling that Airbourne Toxic Event create then get yourselves down to The Academy Saturday week April 9th.
